The Autry Museum of the American West is dedicated to presenting a comprehensive and inclusive view of the American West, placing its experiences and stories at the center of the Los Angeles cultural landscape.
The museum presents a wide range of exhibitions and public programs, including lectures, film, theater, festivals, family events, and music, and is also involved in research and educational outreach.
The Autry's collection of more than 600,000 pieces of art and artifacts includes the Southwest Museum of the American Indian Collection, among the largest and most significant in the United States.
For nonprofit institutions, a ticket sale isn't the end of the funnel; it's the beginning. Every visitor is a potential future member and lifelong donor. Here's what Autry faced:
For the Autry, these challenges posed serious roadblocks for their ambitious membership growth targets. For 2026, they were looking at a slate of 33+ major ticketed events with no scalable distribution engine to drive awareness and attendance.
With Fever's platform, the Autry overhauled their ticketing and marketing infrastructure to significantly improve the online visitor journey, all while capturing more data and growing ticket sales.
On their updated ticketing page, we introduced high-quality videos and photos to immediately grab users' attention and showcase the personality of the museum's events and exhibitions. In addition to visually enriching the online visitor journey, we also trimmed the checkout process to under 60 seconds, all while still capturing key user data like full names and emails, which flowed automatically into the museum's CRM database.
As part of the core marketing strategy developed for the Autry Museum, Fever helped the museum feature their existing events and exhibitions through year-round posts on social media and dedicated articles on Secret Los Angeles, generating hundreds of thousands of impressions throughout Los Angeles county. This strategy allowed the Autry to consistently place their programming in front of a broad, experience-hungry audience of both locals and tourists.
Secret Los Angeles, as part of Secret Media Network, is the largest and most influential digital publisher on city life and local experiences, with a reach of over 10 million users every month in Los Angeles alone.
One standout example was the Autry's Annual Block Party, a marquee celebration featuring a carnival on the lawn, Wild West-inspired performances, and museum access. Fever promoted and ticketed the event, helping the Autry expand ticket sales with a demographic that included families and individuals in their 20s and 30s.
The results proved that consistent and well-distributed organic content, paired with a trusted local voice such as Secret Los Angeles, can meaningfully grow awareness and attendance for museums and heritage sites, especially those without a large in-house marketing budget.
In the cultural arts world, where capturing and cultivating new audiences while maintaining the current audience is essential, the Fever team has been invaluable in enhancing the Autry Museum's reach and engagement of audiences. Our partnership has boldly moved our organization in the right direction.
